Mindful Stargazing Facebook Live

When:  Apr 3, 2022 from 17:00 to 18:00 (UTC)
Time of Event in Your Time Zone

Join us for our GAM2022 kick-off Facebook Live event highlighting the appreciation of  the awe and wonder of the night sky using mindfulness,  with special guest speaker  Mark Westmoquette,  professional astrophysicist, author, and Yoga teacher.

This talk is for anyone who has gazed up at the night sky in total wonder. All too often, stargazing can become focussed on the science and technology and we forget about the personal, human experience of being with the night sky. In this talk I will take you on a journey to connect your inner and outer Universe and (re)discover the magic and awe of the night sky and contemplating our place within the universe. I will talk about my own experience as a professional astronomer and mindfulness teacher, about the books I've written, and guide you through simple practices for contemplating our place in the universe and our relationship to it. It’s my hope that by the end you’ll feel at home as a citizen of this universe.
