Celebrating the Jubilee of the Sirius Astronomical Association
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (astro-photo-poem-essay) and Florin Alexandru Stancu (design)

My friends, it is good
to show what we collected
from the Universe!

The Sirius Astronomical Association (which previously was a branch of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy-SARM and is now the most active astronomical organization in the school environment in Romania), is led by its founder, teacher Ioan Adam.
In 2021, September 22-25, they celebrated their jubilee of 20 years, an exceptional national event which included a conference (organized in partnership with the Romanian Society for Cultural Astronomy), a festive evening (with launching of lampions), the jubilee ceremony (in which a group of children performed the hymn of the Sirius Association) , a cultural excursion, the launching of the hosts’ magazine “Steps toward Infinity” (the longest-lived astronomical magazine in Romania) and the largest and most beautiful astroart exhibition ever made in Romania (300 works selected from all editions of the contest “Dreaming of the Stars”).
The participants represented Romanian cultural and astronomical entities, the four Romanian classical planetariums (Baia Mare, Suceava, Bacau and Constanta), SARM and the Science Academy of the Republic of Moldova. They told about etnoastronomy, archaeoastronomy, international co-operations of planetariums, history of astronomy, the solar system, Foucault Pendulum, astronomical education, astronomy in literature, impacts of astronomy in the people’s life and even ufology.
Valentin Grigore talked about the cultural-astronomical priorities of SARM in Romania and I was the responsible with astropoetry (I talked about astro-humanism, made an exhibition with the first books of the Astromix Publishing House - dedicated to astronomy -, launched my two new books on the history of astropoetry and astro-proverbs in verses, performed a short astropoetic one-man show and recited astro-dedications to our hosts).

Oh, beautiful jubilee of the Sirius Astronomical Association
in the cultural town of Barlad
(former Capital City of Terra Berladensis in the Middle Ages),
watched by Jupiter and the Crowned Moon!
It was so beautiful
that, soon after I returned home to Bucharest,
even the star Sirius appeared on my balcony
like an echo.
