Under the coordination of Ciprian Vintdevara, the first part of the Barlad Astronomy Symposium was dedicated to variable stars (observation methods, discoveries, analyses) by Ruxandra Toma (master's degree in astronomy at the Argelander Institute in Bonn, Germany, and doctorate in astronomy at the Armagh Observatory, Northern Ireland), Gabriel Neagu (the “child prodigy” of Romania in the discovery of variable stars, over 100 by the survey method), Aurel Chirila and Jan Ovidiu Tercu (the “patriarch” of variable star discoveries in Romania).

From outside the museum, the Sun also listened to the works of the symposium, which I characterized by a haiku:

performing an ode to the
variable stars
