After I photographed Sorin Marin and Dan-George Uza near the portrait of Nicolae Coculescu (the professor who founded in 1908 the state observatory in Romania), we visited the Equatorial Dome to see the most impressive instrument in AIRA, the giant “equatorial lunette” (6 m long and 23 t heavy) - a refracting telescope made by special order before World War I.
Our guide Sorin Marin told us that even Pluto (at that time considered the last planet) was observed through this instrument before World War II.

When Pluto was a normal planet (before 2006),
I was young and thought that
the whole world could be mine.

After Pluto became just a dwarf planet (after 2006),
I understood that, from the infinity of the world,
I can only choose some points of interest…

and in the pre-morning that followed
I greeted the star Procyon
(the 2022 autumnal equinox version).
