Cosmic Multicultural Bucharest in the Pandemic (332):
Astromix and SARM Commemorative Expedition 2022 (12)
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (astro-photo-poetical chronicle) and Florin Alexandru Stancu (design)
We made a short detour through the Catholic section of the Bellu cemetery (which is mainly Christian-Orthodox) to see the tomb of Nicolae Coculescu (1866-1952), graduate in astronomy at the Sorbonne University.
He was the creator of the state astronomical observatory in Bucharest in 1908 (which he led for 30 years) and of professional astronomical research in Romania.
Or better said about Nicolae Coculescu…
A man with a special nimbus,
a real champion in cosmic labor
and the creator
of the Romanian astronomical Olympus!
