GLOBAL ASTRONOMY MONTH 2023

Spring brings us joy, Sun and trees in bloom, raw green and chirping birds.
But this year spring comes with something special.
Towards the end of April, spring brings us a small meteor shower generated by Comet Thatcher, discovered in April 1861, meteors radiating from the constellation Lyra.
Also, at this time of year, when the nights are still quite long, we will be able to admire the winter constellations in the evening, then the spring constellations, followed by the summer constellations, with the most spectacular part of the Milky Way, the southern region.
The planet Venus will shine brightly in the twilight, as the Evening Star, and with a little luck we will also see the planet Mercury.
And the planet Mars will be exactly between the two twin brothers that make up the constellation of the same name, Gemini.

VARIABLE STARS

The stars burning, outlining a heavenly symphony,
Pulsing to the rhythm of unquenchable love,
From beating hearts, we ignite constellations,
A variable love, but eternal in translations.
Oh, what brilliance, how much mystery in love,
Let us be, like the stars, light that pierces the unseen,
In the galactic embrace, let's lose ourselves,
In a waltz, like the variable stars, let's love each other forever.
GLOBAL ASTRONOMY MONTH

It's April time and this living month
Has become a symbol of astronomy,
A capricious and springy month
And in the season, mid-spring.
And zodiacal constellations,
Pisces and Aries welcome the SUN.
When the night is warm and clear,
The light of the stars envelops us
And in this equinoctial season,
APRIL has become an astral symbol,
Which clearly shows you why
You too are a child of
The worlds of the sky.
APRIL WORRIES

Lady Venus sends us a message in detours
From the Taurus area
Signaling that chaos is up.
Mars in Gemini hides,

MY FRIEND THE MOON

As a child,
I thought that the Moon
was a lighted lantern
that was turned off during the day
so as not to consume energy.
Being a teenager,
I thought that the Moon
was a song and, dancing with joy,
I arrived at the seashore
to see a sunrise.
Now, when I have become mature,
the Moon is no longer
either a lantern or a song,
but a treasure in the sky.
THE MISSION OF THE GODDESS ARTEMIS

Mankind's dream of reaching the Moon makes us travel,
We set out there decades ago with another god, Apollo,
But now curiosity through Artemis will take us to the lunar south
In the shadow of a crater that harbors water.
We will give the orbit of the Earth to that of the Moon
Where every kilogram costs us much more,
The Sun will give us the energy, and the flow of ions the movement
And down there, on the satellite, we will carefully shake off the regolith.
We will protect ourselves from radiation when we surround ourselves with it,
We will grow salads, we will produce oxygen,
We will be able to drink water that way.
Then, wiser, we'll fly to Mars.
AN AUTUMNAL MEMORY FOR GAM 2023

October - meeting of the two souls
Under a clear sky and a new moon
I found you, but I didn't look for you.
Cool and warmth,
I'm drowning in my senses -
Scarlet, vibrant dusk.
I blinked; was it you or a fireball?
Entwined love,
The rhythm of the heart -
You are a follower of the intricate
While I am an autumnal flower;
I open up to you.
A thought, a ghost and a deed
You revealed yourself, incarnate;
Divine mark, indisputable -
You and I are like Andromeda and Perseus.
I found you in the middle of autumn,
You, an astronomer of falling stones,
Me, a small and fragile flower.

DISTANT PLANETS WITH JAMES WEBB THROUGH THE GALAXIES AND MORE OR LESS HUMOR

Shock and horror: the James Webb space telescope lost control!
It was last seen passing through two galaxies, NGC 4302 and NGC 4298!
(For the fussy: it's a joke!)
On the evening of March 26, 2023, the James Webb telescope, as seen from Earth, was in the constellation Virgo, an area where many galaxies are visible.
Around 11 p.m. it passed directly over the NGC 4302 galaxy, I observed it from Bucharest.
The telescope was seen as a faintly bright star, passing over the elongated galaxy.
James Webb is ok, unlike humans.

The James Webb Space Telescope is doing very good work on planets far from the Sun. Here work means observations, and good, very fine details.
It is quite difficult to photograph Uranus and Neptune, because you need a large telescope, for the size of the planets, and one sensitive to the light that these planets give off best, infrared.
Interesting images were taken with Hubble, but James Webb surpassed him...
And of all the galaxies photographed with James Webb, the planets are the most beautiful!

I walked with proud Urania
under the tree buds.
And I thought they were stars.
I walked with the muse of astronomy
near the magnolia flowers.
And I thought they were nebulae.
I watched
the stars of the Winter Triangle move away.
Then I oscillated between the Evening Star
and the stars of the Spring Triangle.
And I thought they were flowers.
