A SUMMER UNDER THE STARS – A MINI-ANTHOLOGY OF SARM

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

.

.

This is the second astropoetry mini-anthology that resulted from the summer camps of astronomy organized by the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy (SARM) in 2025.

.

A SUMMER UNDER THE STARS

(English translation by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe)

.

ASTRONOMY CAMP

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (Bucharest)

.

In an astronomy camp,

adults become children

when they look at the sky

with the naked eye,

and children become adults

when they look at the sky

through the telescope.

.

A LOOK AT THE STARS

By Valentin Grigore (Targoviste)

.

We must look at the stars together

because they do not shine alone.

.

A look at the stars

brings you hope

to get up.

.

HAIKU

By Alex Vizitiu (Bucharest)

.

Ionization channels,

lights that shine through the night -

electric silence.

.

MOON

By Adda Cristiana Mitrache (14 years old, Targoviste)

.

What does the Moon announce in the sky?

The night that comes from the past.

.

Stars surround

her light with life,

a burden falls from the shoulders

for she suddenly can conquer you.

.

Like a cheese plate,

she creates big waves on the shore.

.

The night is ending.

Farewell! The day

no longer receives moonlight!

.

AURORA BOREALIS

By Alexandru David Datcu (18 years old, Bucharest)

.

The sun sends us a vital sign,

we become colors,

sigh on the horizon...

From the north, across the boat,

lights appear.

.

Tears in the sky,

feelings perish,

the aurora disappears,

longing reappears!

.

AUNT COMET’S THREAT

By Alec Bartos (Cluj-Napoca)

.

One more orbit please

I still want to shake my tail!

.

Am I asking much of you, All-Bright One?

It's not enough that I orbit you

regularly in silence, for so long…

And I didn't say anything?

.

I know you're enjoying it!

You can't hide your…

solar flares.

.

But even though it's not pretty

I threaten you calculatedly!

.

If you burn me again

to the next orbit

I drop my tail like a lizard.

.

THROUGH MY EYES

By Sophia Maria Andrei (12 years old, Bucharest)

.

Through my eyes I see the stars,

hundreds, thousands, how many?

The constellations take shape

and another meteor falls.

.

THE STAR CATCHER

By Ariel Voicu (13 years old, Bucharest)

.

The darkest part of the Universe

shoots millions of stars

for a ring of light.

.

It attracts everything:

stars, planets...

and makes a small collection,

collects them all

creating a galaxy

of possibilities and mysteries

.

HAIKU

By Constantin Kapitza (Bucharest)

.

The same builders

in a Milky Way,

our island.

.

HOW HARD?

By Ion(ut) Moraru (Bucharest)

.

How hard would it be for a man

to reach Mars?

.

There, the robot Curiosity could

walk on Mount Sharp,

the Perseverance rover collected

samples with laser jets,

and the Ingenuity helicopter demonstrated

that it can fly to a planet other than Earth,

which I think

makes enough history.

.

IN A SARM SUMMER CAMP

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (Bucharest)

.

On a mountain plateau

with about 10 telescopes

and about 25 sky lovers...

.

One says that in the sky we can see

airplanes, which fly slower,

artificial satellites, which fly faster,

and meteors, which fly the fastest.

.

One turns to Cassiopeia

and remains captivated by her charm.

.

One is happy to have seen a meteor.

.

One says about the constellations

that Serpens should be called Draco

and Draco should be called Serpens.

.

Two puppies, fans of the event,

bark approvingly from time to time,

foretelling that the heavenly return

of the dogs of Orion

is not far.
