Fun Science Carnival: Origami in Space Design

Origami is a traditional Japanese art. It seems to be a simple folding technique, but it impiles some complex mechanisms for structural modeling. This origami process inspires the prototype design of engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and could be applied in aeronautical engineering and astronautics. The engineers also take advantage of STEAM mindsets and integrates science and art to develop foldable solar panels for space telescopes. Now let us enjoy the moment of making origami models together!    #GAM2021
