Cosmic Question Mark

.

.

A question mark hangs in the sky

as if all answers to defy

no matter what we think we know

within our cosmic view’s tableau

as to the what and how and why.

.

When speculations go awry,

where deeper bases underlie,

might wisdom guide the stars to show

a question mark?

.

Assumptions lacking proof’s supply

that seek to speak as truth thereby

though theories may come and go—

aye, let the vast immense bestow

as seeming caveat on high

a question mark.

Explanation: Nasa’s James Webb space telescope has captured the most detailed image yet of a star system about 1,470 light years away – with one strange cosmic object shaped like a “question mark” in its background. The star system, dubbed Herbig-Haro 46/47, was captured by the Webb telescope’s powerful infrared cameras and consists of two young stars pulled to each other by gravity as they spin.
