Comet Leonard, December 9, 2021

By Valentin Grigore posted 12-09-2021 18:58

Last night I escaped from the town of Targoviste (350 m alt), immersed in fog and low altitude clouds, and I climbed in the submontane area at 820 m alt. The fog remained at 780-800 m level, so we found clear sky almost an hour before dawn.
Here is an artistic composite image. One shot for comet + one shot for landscape. Not easy enough, but I was able to see the comet with the naked eye.
Canon 6D + Samyang 135mm
Sky: 1 x 30 sec., ISO 4000, star tracker.
Ground (Leaota Massif and peak, 2.133 m alt) : 1 x 1.6 sec., ISO 1000 (in the dawn time, Sun 7.5° below horizon).
Photoshop, soft processing, soft crop and composition.
Place: Runcu, Romania. Bortle 4
