Cosmic Multicultural Bucharest in the Pandemic (42):
Memories of where the Global Astronomy Month was born

Every January
Valentin Grigore and I celebrate annually by phone our participation in the events that opened International Year of Astronomy 2009 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
And now, in Bucharest (“Little Paris”), in my apartment, I remember…
There, in Greater Paris, I happened to be sitting close to the British Royal Astronomer (Martin Rees).
Valentin Grigore spoke with the president of the International Astronomical Union (Catherine Cesarsky).
I told the radio pulsar discoverer (Jocelyn Bell Burnell) about astro-photo-art-poetry of SARM.
Valentin Grigore was greeted by Kepler himself!

Then we visited the Paris Royal Observatory and the Paris Meudon Observatory with other personalities in astronomy.

We also saw Mike Simmons enjoying SARM’s astro-photo-art-poetry and talking about his organization, Astronomers Without Borders, the current organizer of the Global Astronomy Month.

At the same time we presented even an astropoetry show at UNESCO-Paris!

Time passed…
Valentin Grigore and I first met again during the pandemic in a park in Bucharest to celebrate the spring equinox 2021 and to prepare Global Astronomy Month 2021 in Romania.

Although with protective masks,
on our earthly boulder
we decided to continue the story
shoulder to shoulder.
