As a guest of honor, I couldn't miss the autumn edition of Mihail Sebastian cultural circle (which took place on November 22, 2022), led by my former teacher of mathematics Zigmund Tauber (95 years old) with the help of his daughter Liana Tauberg, a special place where he also makes room for astronomy and astropoetry.
As usual, it was a pleasant evening of poetry, music and culture with participants of different ages.

On this occasion, I gave him my book, "An Epopee of the Romanian Sky", as an award from SARM for his long and rich activity in astropoetry, and after a few days, Zigmund Tauberg sent me his last rhymed astropoem, which I translated into English as best I could.

STAR LOVE
By Zigmund Tauberg

Once upon a time in this world
a great warrior appeared,
named Timur Lenk,
a terrible robber in the beginning
who became powerful
and built a fabulous empire through war.
Then he ruled many peoples
through terror and crimes
in those totalitarian times.

His many descendants
were equally bloodthirsty,
but one of them, Ulugh Beg,
was special
and explored the star worlds.
Peaceful and thirsty for learning,
he passionately studied the celestial vault
in clear nights
and came to know its secrets
better than anyone.
Moreover, he built
an astronomical observatory in Samarkand
that surpassed all before him,
fulfilling his greatest dream.

What a huge contradiction!
We can, thus, discover
that a symbol of tyranny had a grandson
who was a star lover!
