PERSEIDS 2023 AND THE MILKY WAY
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
The 31st edition of the cultural-astronomical event "Perseids" of SARM (where I could not be present, but from where I constantly received information) - Runcu Stone, August 6-14, 2023 - inspired me to start this new Romanian mini-anthology of observational astropoetry (with authors who really study the sky), dedicated to the Milky Way Star Festival of AWB.

Perseid shower –
august meteors eclipsing
the Milky Way…
ESCAPING FROM FAMILY ASTRONOMY
By Alex Vizitiu
In the evening of August 12, 2023,
I spontaneously got into the car
and went to the Perseid camp of SARM.
There, in a mountain area,
I sat on a leaflet,
talked with the other observers,
waited for the passing of the clouds
that confused the Milky Way,
and saw some meteors,
but they were few and small.
The next morning I returned home,
where my little daughter began
orbiting around me.
A PERSEID METEOR AMONG THE CLOUDS
By Valentin Grigore
On the night of the Perseid maximum,
August 12/13, 2023,
at Runcu Stone in the camp
we had to observe the meteors among the clouds.
But I caught a nice Perseid meteor
with a flash at the end.
In the upper left,
the Milky Way was also watching…
To the left,
the star Vega was shining…

Thirsty for the Milky Way,
hungry for Perseids,
loving the world…
PERSEIDS 2023 IN RUNCU STONE
By Stefan Cristache (15 years)
Meteor,
tear of fire,
full of longing
for the old times…
Admiring the Milky Way,
until dawn we observe
the sons of Comet Swift-Tuttle,
for about 2000 years the parent
of the spectacular meteors
that every August,
among the clouds or not, fly
innumerable, but relaxed
through the sky.
ANOTHER STRANGER IN THE NIGHT
By Catalin Lita
A few Perseids invaded the Earth’s atmosphere
and brought joy to my eyes
while I was in the SARM camp at Runcu Stone
on the night of August 13/14, 2023.
Witnesses were a few nebulae
found near the radiant
along with the Double Cluster,
the Hyades and the Pleiades.
To the right side of the frame,
Jupiter and the Triangulum Galaxy
briefly flanked what seemed to be
a foreign meteor.
