SOLAR ECLIPSES AND SARM (2)

In August 1999, the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy (SARM) organized the largest event dedicated to the “eclipse of the 20th century”, EuRoEclipse Perseids 1999, with 250 official participants from four continents and hundreds of unofficial participants.
This event had a unique concept, which included a central international astronomy camp, a national astronomical summer school, a national astronomy competition for youth, cultural excursions, an international astronomy conference, an international showroom of arts, publications and photographs (from 30 countries) on astronomical themes, an international cosmopoetry festival, an international team astronomy competition and seven eclipse viewing locations.
