AMERICAN ECLIPSE 2024 - A SARM ANTHOLOGY OF ASTROPOETRY (3)

PART III

APRIL 8, 2024, CLINTON, ARKANSAS - A MEMORY

By Valentin Grigore

Many times I relive intensely

the emotion of that cosmic event,

the fantastic solar eclipse of April 8, 2024.

Ah, the delicate strands

in the solar corona

arching along the lines

of the magnetic field

of the Sun!

DEAR STELLAR FRIEND

By Alexandra Emilia Pocora

There is no sadness behind closed eyes,

The primordial blackness brings just peace

Showing in our dreams the whispered stories of past lives

As they emerged from the universe’s crease.

It was in darkness where the skies were born

In a brief moment, in just a flicker of light,

Ever alive, yet ever torn.

The eyes always blink back to a new day after the long night.

With a memory in heart,

There is no fear of tomorrow.

THE APPEARANCE OF THE ECLIPSE

By Victor Chifelea

Sometimes wanting

to regulate his soul a little,

the Sun shelters

behind the Moon.

THE CROWN OF THE ECLIPSE

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

Dear Sun,

did the Moon somehow try

to steal your crown?

For my part,

keep it exactly as you know best,

it's too shiny

and too heavy

for me!

LIGHT AND LITTLE LIGHT (OR LUMINA AND LUMINITA)

By Razvan Andrei

(Note: Luminita - the Little Light in English - is a young woman who could not resist the rhythm of the SARM expedition from 2024 and, a few days before its end, took the plane back to Romania)

We crossed seas and oceans

to see how proudly the Moon

covers our Sun.

Arriving in the distant place,

we saw two eclipses:

on April 8, the light disappeared,

and on April 19, so did the Little Light.

ENGINEERING TOTALITY

By Alex Andrei

How was the total solar eclipse?

Small, black, cold...

and too short!

ECLIPSA 2024 (prose poem)

By Minodora Carmen Lipcanu

It is about an intimate meeting between me, who in the moment of totality gave up technique and reason, and looked directly at the sky (in English heavens=sky, inexplicable in Romanian this duality).

It was the moment of the meeting with the divine spark in me, I felt a joy that enlightens the being.

In Trinity Park, in the sky of Fort Worth, there was a huge cross: on the horizontal were Jupiter and Venus, and on the vertical the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, and as an ornament, the clouds around the Moon had a reddish halo-rainbow.

These feelings have nothing to look for in a competition.

The people around me were, most of them, dismayed, someone was crying, others were scared by the shivers that ran through them.

After the totality passed, almost all the people quietly went about their business, still under the influence of that unique experience.

We remained recording every 5 minutes the departure of the Moon towards the east from the Sun's disk.

The agitated chirping of the birds began again.

THE ECLIPSE

By Tit Tihon

And may the great star roam your way.

May the eclipses of Ra delight the earthlings

with auroras of suns.

With eyes wide open,

with fears on earth,

they want to look again

at the spell of the star,

which will watch over them....

SOMEWHERE IN ARKANSAS

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

On April 8, 2024,

somewhere in Arkansas

I enjoyed the vision

of a total solar eclipse,

the only case in which

the darkness defeating the light

is not something tragical,

but rather magical.

AFTER THE 2024 AMERICAN ECLIPSE EXPEDITION

By Alec Bartos

Some of you may already be

on other expeditions for a reason...

others still sip from this

a thought, a time, a season...
