A NEW ASTRO-HAIKU DIALOGUE WITH ALEX VIZITIU
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
.
.
I have the honor to inform you that today I will propose three haikus by Alex Vizitiu, designated as the national laureate of astro-haiku in Romania in 2024 (by a jury led by me), my reply containing also three haikus.
All these haikus were originally written in Romanian, so the translation I made could not respect the classic number of 17 syllables.

THREE ASTRO-HAIKUS
By Alex Vizitiu
.
Leonids burn,
Geminids shine,
The sky comes alive.
.
Winter night,
Clear sky, dancing stars,
Deep silence.
.
Cassiopeia,
Throne of living stars in the sky,
The wind whispers.

THREE ASTRO-HAIKUS
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
.
Come to write haiku -
excerpts of the Universe
in just three short lines
.
Observatory -
mysterious questions,
late astral answers
.
In the infinite deep sky
no galaxy asks me
for rent
.
Finally, an astropoem as a bonus from my guest (written in the original with rhythm and rhyme, translated by me according to my possibilities).
.
THE UNIVERSE LIKES SPHERES!
By Alex Vizitiu
.
Let’s imagine the Moon as a square.
How strange she and her flight
would seem, angular and rigid
in the sky, with drier light!
.
Shadows would fall defective and cold
over the hills and the villages,
we would no longer see a full circle,
only a foreign nest through the ages.
.
Her seas would stretch out in
hard angles, like an abyss,
and we would ask ourselves:
-How did the sky change like this?
