A BIZARRE PULSAR FOR THE MILLISECOND

Sequentially I am a master of alternating power,
with a discreet cadence,
then I change the pace
and vibrate with an intense beat,
trembling motion toward the galactic center,
I vibrate in tentacular impetuosity,
I call myself by name and numerical acronym,
an arrow of pulsating defiance
that plows through space-time
in lively respect, in ferment, and confirmation
of famous Einstein Theory of Relativity.
Let me introduce myself,
I am the acronym "Breakthrough Listen Pulsar (Blpsr)",
I orbit around the Milky Way's
black hole Sagittarius A*.
Earthlings search for me when
I scatter into the most suitable radio environment,
but I expand,
making myself a space-temporal range,
and thus, out of spite,
I make it harder to be intercepted!
Hunt me down again, please!

A MEASURE OF TIME

I lost my watch
(how beautifully it ticked!),
but it doesn't matter,
at night I will orient myself
after the North Star
and I will measure the time
after the regularity
of a pulsar.
