A Conjunction
.
A conjunction is lots of fun.
.Watching the celestial objects
Passing one another seeming
Close but far away. Don’t let
Your eyes deceive you as the
Objects play. Keep watching
There will be more to see on
Another day!

The Venus and Jupiter conjunction of 2025!
.By Clarence G. UnderwoodDuring the Month of August 2025 a beautiful series of images was presented to us in the predawn skies. Beginning on August 2, the first image below, we see Venus and Jupiter in the predawn eastern sky. From that point until August 12, images are recorded of the movement of the two planets towards their close pairing on August 12, the last image below is when the planets appear less than a degree apart. While the planets appear close in space they are actually millions of miles apart. Venus is between the Earth and the Sun and Jupiter is on the other side of Mars almost a half a billion miles away. Note, in the three lead images Venus appears to come first while in the last image Jupiter and Venus have switched positions. Venus is the brighter of the two planets. Jupiter and Venus are the brightest objects in the sky after the Sun and the Moon!

.The conjunction is over, we’ve moved from the 12th of August to the 18th. The first image is when the moon comes into the vicinity of the planets Jupiter and Venus. The next image is when the moon joined the planet parade on the 19th. That is followed by an image where the moon is now trailing the two planets. What is not seen there is the planet Mercury which is to the lower right of the Moon. This image was captured on the 21st. The last image was an enlargement of the 21st image and shows Mercury to the lower right of the Moon! Enjoy!.
