Black History Month
Tradition has it that Black Natives
Ran naked uneducated through
The jungles of Africa, so they say!
But history paints the picture
Another way. Language did abound
In Africa way back when, when Jesus
Walked the earth and before that my
Friend! In Acts 8:26-40, we find
Philip speaking with a Bible reading
African, one of whom from 400 BC
Had Ge’ez as a Ethiopian written
Language available to him. Now
Reading Hebrew and taking it all in!
Other African languages were written
Back then. Some were recorded as
Early as 5000 BC ( Proto-Saharan), my friend.
Needless to say Hieroglyphs isn’t all there was!
We must know that organized cultures
Did abound. So, next time someone says
The African natives ran free, picture
Them with a book, reading, under a tree!
And when they were not reading they were
Looking up! You see, one of the oldest
Astronomical stone observatories was found
In Africa. Nabta Playa is about 2,000 years
Older than Stonehenge. There were many
Stone observatories found in Africa, Senegal
Has a number of observatories. There are
Many events that suggest Africa was one
knowledge center of the world!
