A supernova and its host galaxy are the subject of today’s NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope Picture.

Sculptor’s Supernova

.

.

A supernova and its host

galactic grace the cosmic sky

in constellation Sculptor’s most

evocative to Hubble’s eye,

.

the telescope, that is to say,

depiction rendered splendidly

is for our survey on display

in cosmic skies unendedly

.

stelliferous in my daydreams

amidst the reams of astral streams

in constellations’ star regimes

which oft have mythologic themes.

.

How pertinent the Sculptor rings

to starry gazer such as I

who muses whence the artwork springs

in vastness of celestial sky.

.

A dot at center pinkish bright

of supernova’s being speaks,

while minor galaxies in sight

invite some further stellar peeks.

.

The burst sidereal above

galactic spiral in the view

nearby the central glow thereof

is next to brilliant patches blue

.

of stars within this distant world

and other clustered ones as well

on velvet black superbly pearled,

a seeming wondrous place to dwell…

..

And yet if we’d but feel the awe

how magic could this earth appear,

a perfect realm with not a flaw

unless it’s of our making here.

Supernova spotting (ESA)…

Image Description: In the exact center a supernova is seen as a small but bright pinkish dot. It lies atop a spiral galaxy, close to the glowing center and next to some bright patches of blue stars in the galaxy. A small number of more minor galaxies are visible around the comparatively large spiral as small glowing discs, while further distant galaxies are seen as mere orangish spots and smudges, all on a black background.]
