| GREAT OPPORTUNITY |
There's great opportunity before us
because we can make the
breakthrough that will dim all
our previously undertaken, unsuccessful, efforts
initiated already by illustrious ancestors
If we succeed, answers to
the most profound questions, being
asked from centuries, will be
finally given changing, dramatically, paradigms
taken for granted too long
Although we are now yet
before great opportunities: untold stories,
undone discoveries, unwritten papers, we
make bold leaps towards them,
irrespectively on all encountered difficulties
We struggle with them just
to see further, to hear
better; these are ones of
aims we set, therefore construction
of large apparatus is underway...
It will be a square
kilometer wide array bridging, basically,
two continents in a joint
venture but the whole scientific
world and community as well.

The poem was inspired by the SKA project which is run by the Square Kilometre Array Observatory with headquarters at the Jodrell Bank Observatory in the United Kingdom. The radio telescopes are currently being buid in Australia (low-frequency) and South Africa (mid-frequency) within the intergovernmental cooperation.
