To create a more accessible and inclusive experience of NASA space imagery, a unique approach has been developed to describe the nature and complexity of NASA visualizations for people who are blind or low vision: extended visual descriptions. We will discuss what visual descriptions are and how they are currently being used for representing data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. We will explore how to integrate verbal explanations of the scientific phenomena along with descriptions of what the visual viewer was seeing in the presented imagery to create a more accessible, cohesive package.
