Cosmic Multicultural Bucharest in the Pandemic (7):
Near the House of the Sphinx
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (astro-photo-poem-essay) and Florin Alexandru Stancu (design)

On October 18, 2020, I walked around an interesting ante-war building nicknamed “the House of the Sphinx”, which made me think of the ancient Egyptian Empire of the Sun, including the Great Sphinx of Giza, the Great Hymn to the Aten (or to the solar disk), Amon-Ra (the supreme god of the whole Cosmos), pyramids, temples, calendars and activities connected to the position of the stars.
And I was so delighted that I urgently needed to see a sunrise.
I did it the next day right from the apartment of my departed parents… the Sun appeared partially eclipsed by clouds, seeming like a sphinx with long wings of light.
Then I returned to that fascinating house (on October 27), where I compared the wings of its sphinx (small and dark, on the left) to the wings of the Sun (big and bright, on the right).
The result…

Whatever we try to run
Does not compare to the Sun.
