Cosmic Multicultural Bucharest in the Pandemic (15):
Three Romanian Personalities with Love for the Cosmos
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (astro-photo-poem-essay) and Florin Alexandru Stancu (design)

2021…
An end of January with reminders about great people who loved the Cosmos even though they were not astronomers:

-Dimitrie Cantemir (1673-1723) was an erudite ruler of the Romanian state of Moldova whose cultural opera marked three empires: Ottoman, Roman-German and Russian. In “The Hieroglyphic History” he wrote verses about the Milky Way, constellations and planets.
-Ion Heliade Radulescu (1802-1872 ) was the first president of the Academy of United Romania. He wrote a cosmogonical poem, “Anatolida or Man and the Forces”.
-Maria Tanase (1913-1963) was “the Great Lady of the Romanian millennial song”. She wrote a verse testament in which she wanted to be buried in the Big Dipper.
Obviously, they did not know each other, but...

“I knew all those kind people!” -
I heard the Sun’s high call.
I didn’t doubt him just because
The Sun knows all.
