Cosmic Multicultural Bucharest in the Pandemic (296):
Near the Vernescu House
By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (astro-photo-poem-essay) and Florin Alexandru Stancu (design)
Created in 1821 in French eclectic style, the Vernescu House was once a place for aristocratic parties, a headquarters for ministries, a protocol room for leading communists, a headquarters of the writers' union, and now it is a casino-restaurant.
I visited it on November 6, 2020, after I passed through Central Bucharest: a municipal library, a cultural center, the Art Museum, the Romanian Academy, an old church...
And when I saw it
I felt like I was slipping in time!
On a wall of the Vernescu House I saw a medium-sized star carved...
I wondered how well the spirit of this building felt with all the changes...
And I wrote the following haiku:
When you don't feel too
comfortable, remember:
your star is the Sun!
