An Astropoetic Medallion with Constantin Kapitza

By Andrei Dorian Gheorghe

.

.

In fact, the charming galaxies

are the pockets

of the Universe

(Andrei Dorian Gheorghe)

.

Constantin Kapitza is a renowned and admired poet in Romania, author of numerous poetry books and winner of several awards. This time, he adapted his creativity to the rigors of astropoetry, and I was happy to translate his following creations.

.

-THREE ASTROPOEMS BY CONSTANTIN KAPITZA

.

SLEEP AND INSOMNIA

.

If you walk on the road that forks,

on the right

is the star-bird Poetry

with feathers illuminated in verses,

on the left

is the star-bird Wait

and they all sit in the Sun

sleeping in the Milky Way,

for everything will be milk.

.

LIFE

.

It is the hour to drink from the rivers,

waters of life flowing,

in times spoken by tongues with vigor

and in signs,

evoked from testaments,

with minds illuminated by stars

in ancient perfumes from nebulae,

chases of experiences, alas,

the books came flowing

under bridges built by

the people of silence,

the thinkers of sleepless nights

reading the sky of milk and flowers.

Thus, the whole earth spread out,

filled with ornaments and chains,

things from always lived,

it is life.

.

SADNESS

.

We sit sad

and look at the stars

with Hawking far away…

what black hole is he living in?

Without earthly flavors

we look through the windows

of the Universe

and no one sees him,

although the stars do not close

their shutters.
