Spiral and Star

.

.

A galaxy spiral and a star

shining in image together are

seemingly to one another near

except the galaxy’s far in rear.

.

They even appear to overlap

albeit not through welkin mishap

but rather due to discernment’s guiles

which ever employ celestial wiles.

..

Perception’s deception once again

our senses trick as to where and when.

While both in the grouping Virgo dwell

their distance apart is quite a spell.

j.

Forty-five million light-years from Earth,

the azure globe of unfathomed worth

where humankind finds our breath and life,

lies galaxy with its stellars rife,

.

while amidst diffraction spikes the star

is in Milky Way where earthlings are

seven thousand one hundred nine light-

years far, which due to the Hubble’s sight

.

we see through camera data chart,

from two taken twenty years apart

in testament to the Hubble’s long-

lasting duration still going strong.

.

Then too what we look at says a lot

about who we are and what we’re not.

So much has to do with point of view

in what sort of fate we may accrue.

.

Awesome indeed is our indigo

planet in space, the lodging we know.

The challenge is still to gaze above

while keeping feet on the ground with love.
