The first major objective in our commemorative expedition was the Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy. Thanks to the kindness of its director, Mirel Birlan, we were able to visit the Bosianu House, a small but splendid palace created in the 1850s with a six-cornered star tower.
Here the Union of the Romanian Principalities, Wallachia and Moldova, was conceived in 1859.
Here, after 1880, Stefan Hepites created and managed the meteorology and exact hour services in Romania.
Here, in 1908-1912, Nicolae Coculescu created and managed the first Romanian state astronomical observatory.

Headquarters of the Romanian National Astronomical Committee in the interwar period, this building officially became the headquarters of the AIRA library after 1990.

Here, the enthusiast historian Sorin Marin (with the support of the professional astronomer Octavian Blagoi) introduced us to a wonderful journey through time, which turned the guest Dan Uza (director of the astronomical culture publishing house Astromix) into a happy child.
